Pre – Exhibit Nerves

The actual night of 30/05/08 took off in a storm at the University of glamorgan as the students and other interested artists, teachers etc flocked to the ‘K’ block in the interests of modern art and a dam good night out. Everyone filled with nervous tensions from that duelling day but it was all over soon enough and the next thing you remember are the sudden pangs of your life clammering over the walls to bring you to collapse when you realize that after all those months, of sweat and tears are over in three god dam days and that it doesn’t mean a thing to anyone else. Except that if your lucky enough to survive- My God there’s so much work and it’s only the beginning.

Garden Party-Exhibition2008

The day went well at the Ilan Community Centre in Rhydyfelin May 17/08 where I exhibited my collection of coal miners, the sun came out eventually and these dedicated workers from the Glamorgan University came over to sample the quisine at my garden party. We had plenty to talk about as the big day loomed overhead for the University exhibition only 10 days away.

I have started adding some of my new work that has been going on at the University , it won’t be long before it’s time for the exhibition and I have started showing some of my paintings (of my ceramics) on my web site Zansue.com in ning. Hope I am ready for this and as one of my teachers has pointed out already as soon as you finish one project another one rushes in for attention before you can blink so even the thought of a few days to myself and some relaxation has been diminished. God help me!

Questions about Life? Who am I?

“Who am I?” and “what is this world that i am in?” are the questions that arise from the awareness that I am. To find the answers people feel a need to go beyond words and to experience the truth about themselves. It is the longing for real meaning that has led many to look for guidance from the mystics and sages who consequently, have leaped into prominence.

I have found that not only have my interests been captured by the Universities academic advances but transfered my interests to some new hobbies of which gardening has become one of my favourites. Something else that I found interesting a quote that came from Mother Teresa-the vows they take are simple but hard,and every candidate must have certain qualities that are listed on a chart:-

Health of body and mind

Ability to aquire knowledge

Common Sense in abundance

Cheerful dispositions

Poverty, chastity and obedience. Obedience means freedom.

WELL DONE WALES-GRAND SLAM 2008

The Six Nations Championship (referred to as RBS 6 Nations for sponsorship reasons), known before 2000 as the Five Nations Championship, is an annual international rugby union competition involving six European sides: England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales. The winner of the RBS 6 Nations is sometimes seen as being the European Champions.^[1]

The Six Nations Championship, with its predecessors the Five Nations and the Home Championship, is the premier international rugby union tournament in the Northern Hemisphere. It has also in the past been known as ‘The International Championship’. There is also a Women’s Six Nations Championship which historically featured Spain instead of Italy, but since 2007 has included Italy at Spain’s expense.

Wales are the current champions, having won the competition in 2008 by beating all other teams, thus winning the Grand Slam and Triple Crown.

Tales of the unexpected

Most of this work you are reading about is new to me, but I’m begining to paste it all together like the threads of a book I also like using photographs to help me in my artwork- it’s a sure way of sticking to nature an also an inexpensive ways to create your own work. Recently I’ve been trying to figure out a way to make my ceramic sculptures look more authentic and got stuck when told “out of chicken wire as a skeleton ” it’s funny but when I made sculptured coal miners it was the perfect solution now I want to go for something a bit different and have been told that Raquoo firing will work I totally agree. What’s wrong with me -why didn’t I think of that? I have to atted a local JUMBLE SALE on Saturday as my last resort-haven’t been to one of those for at least 20years. Good news I got 2 skirts I needed for slipping, a shawl and a red scarf- sorry I mean ‘Lucky Red Scarf” and it’s for my Welsh woman to exhibit. When I was researching I found out they’d wear a bit of red rag on the coal=tips to bring them luck, think it’s just what I needed and raquoo firing the whole lot- I hope it gives a real authentic look of the coal- tips don’t you agree maybe things are looking up.
